It was a quick change out of his top hat and tails for the Captain of the Parish of German, Allen Corlett following the Tynwald Ceremony on 5th July as he had to head for Peel. Princess Royal, Princess Anne, who had presided over the Tynwald Ceremony also headed to Peel to see the new £2.2 million all-weather Shannon Class lifeboat 'Frank and Brenda Winter'. It is the most advanced lifeboat in the RNLI fleet. She was welcomed by Allen on to the pontoon, where the lifeboat had been placed, in his role as Operations Manager and he introduced her to crew and volunteers. He commented later that she was very interested in everything and saw first-hand where all the donations were spent. The Princess , whose mother, Her Majesty the Queen is Patron of the RNLI , distributed long service certificates to members of the crew and Allen.
