Tynwald Day oral history collecting
Fri, 04 Jul 2025
We want to capture memories – old and new – of Tynwald Day.
Can you help?
We want to collect memories of Tynwald Day from everyone, whether it’s of last year’s event or many decades ago.
You might have been involved in the ceremony, held a flag, or just had fun on the fairfield - it all makes up the wonderfully wide tapestry of what the day is for people, and it will offer memories and stories which would be lost if not recorded for posterity.
We will be doing this on Tynwald Day itself, when we'll be open 10-4pm throughout the day.
It’s quick and easy – pop into Culture Vannin to for a short recorded interview!
Our archive of previous (longer) oral history recordings are here: Oral History Archive
Information about visiting is here: Visit Culture Vannin
