Two conversations with John / Johnny Crellin, otherwise known by his Manx friends as Juan y Crellin.
The first interview, from 2011, focusses on his childhood and the way of life around St Jude's in the 1930s. Topics discussed include family, home, food, cooking, fuel, water, deliveries, telephones, flooding, food preservation & preparation, washing & laundry, vermin & pests, clothes, school, the cinema, local characters, entertainment, shops, radio and more.
The scond interview, from 2019, discusses more of his life, touching on subjects such as WW2, ghosts, superstition, stories while at work, the Manx language, the Manx Bible translations, learning Manx and old sayings.
