The Wonders of Mann
Sun, 27 Nov 2016
A new book, written by Charles Guard, has been published by Culture Vannin, bringing together many mysterious and fascinating aspects of the Isle of Man.
Using stunning photography, most of which has been specially commissioned for the book, The Wonders of Mann explores the more unusual aspects of the Manx landscape including the hidden explosives factory at Cornaa, an old chemical works below Maughold Head, secret vaults and tunnels, unusual natural features, and remarkable man-made structures from the 10th to the 21st century.
From the Calf of Man to the Point of Ayre the photographs, many of which have been taken from drones, provide a completely new perspective on the buildings and the landscape of the Island. All the photographs are accompanied by informative text which brings to life the stories behind these remarkable sites.
The book's page can be found in the Culture Vannin online shop here: The Wonders of Mann.
