Manx dance concert by Perree Bane
Tue, 31 Mar 2020
A full Manx dance concert by Perree Bane has just been released online.
Recorded in Wales at the start of March, the set of six traditional and modern Manx dances is a rare chance to enjoy a full concert of Manx dancing online.
The six dances performed by Perree Bane in this display offer a wonderful range of dances, from well-known dances connected to traditions or calendar customs through to some lesser-performed dances packed full of beauty and grace. They range between both modern and traditional dances, for varying combinations of dancers. The dances include: Mylecharaine's March, The Black and the Grey, Sharon's Jig, Illian y Thalhear, Peter O'Tavy, and Dance for Five.
Many of these dances have not been available as videos online before, so the release of this concert marks an important widening of accessibility to Manx dance online to a worldwide audiance.
The concert comes from the Cwlwm Celtaidd festival which took place in Porthcawl, Wales, at the start of March 2020.
The concert is available to be watched in full here:
