Irish musicians lead music workshops
Thu, 21 Sep 2006
Irish musicians Maire Breatnach and Cormac de Barra visited the Island recently to give masterclasses on fiddle, voice, harp, guitar, stage craft and arranging. Maire and Cormac demonstrated their performance and instrumental skills in a fabulous concert held at Peel Centenary Centre during their stay. The audience, made up of musicians and fans alike, thoroughly enjoyed the intimacy of the venue and the evening finished with a mixed session in the White House. The week was a great success, bringing musicians together and inspiring many to try new ideas and techniques. It is hoped that the venture will be repeated in 2007 and become a regular feature of the Manx musical calendar.School celebrated in new Manx film
