A conversation with Mary Teare (née Kennish, b.1916) about her childhood on Ballaseyre Farm in Andreas, followed by the war years as a butcher in Ramsey.

Some of the topics covered in this conversation include: Andreas school, farm work (for men and women), Andreas village life (including shops, police and characters), church (including the Ballakaneen Chapel), meals and food, Ramsey harbour and shops, World War 2 as a butcher in Parliament Street with the government contracts for the RAF stations in Jurby, Bride and elsewhere, widowhood and later life.
