Marion Lawrence’s mother had been Kathleen Faragher’s sister-in-law. It was through this relationship that she came to run the shop where the Manx dialect poet was born, and she was also to administer the carrying out of Faragher’s will upon her death in 1974. Marion Lawrence here recalls helping to clear out the poet’s home in Maughold after her death, as well as the various things which the family inherited or which were bought from Faragher’s estate. Amongst the possessions were Faragher’s typewriter, a tape-recorder on which it is thought Faragher would record her poems, copies of Faragher’s books with her own annotations in, and an unpublished play script.
