taking our culture forward

Ann Poole was a member of the Maughold branch of the Women’s Institute for decades. It was through this that she came to know the Manx dialect poet and author, Kathleen Faragher. Ann Poole recalls Faragher’s performances in the Maughold Church Hall, her personality and the colleagues she had in the W.I. She also explains the importance of the song which Faragher wrote for the Maughold branch of the W.I., which was sung at the start of their meetings for over 40 years, right up until the branch closed in the year 2000.
