In 2008, the British chain of Woolworths went into administration, moving from normal trading in 800 stores to complete shutdown in just 41 days. After the closure of stores across Great Britain, the brand was revived online by the Shop Direct Group. These photographs were taken in the Douglas branch of Woolworths during November 2008, as the shop advertised its ‘biggest ever sale’. Discount retailer Dealz (part of the Poundland group) now occupies these premises.
