An Advert in the Isle of Man Times in April 1937 announced that: A new hotel is to be built in Port Erin on a site on the promenade above the Hydro Hotel [ed. later known as the Ocean Castle]. It is being erected by Imperial Hotel Ltd. and will have an accommodation of over fifty bedrooms. The Imperial Hotel was built in 1938. In 1946 it was advertised that the Hotel would be re-opening on May 25th after having been re-decorated. It advertised ‘all modern conveniences’ including ‘Vita glass in the Sun lounge’. The Imperial Hotel was demolished in 2007 and in 2008 work began to construct a new block of Apartments called ‘Imperial Heights’.
