Glen Wyllin lies south of Kirk Michael, and extends from the foot of Sartfell mountain to the sea. The part of the Glen that lies east of the main coast road is now a small community which formerly had a mill (Wyllin means ‘mill’ in Manx, in the genitive case). The Manx Heritage Foundation photographed Glen Wyllin Mill in 2006, shortly after the Department of Local Government and the Environment received a planning application to convert the mill into two dwellings. Another mill, which lay close to the shore, has now disappeared due to coastal erosion. The effects of the coastal erosion can be seen in the folder entitled ‘Glen Wyllin’.
