Weeks before the end of WW2, a B-17 Flying Fortress crashed into the side of North Barrule, resulting in the Isle of Man's most devastating aviation accident.
It is commemorated each year on the day of its happening, with the American flag being raised over at the site and words being said for the 31 American servicemen who lost their lives.
This short film follows Mike Corlett, who remembers the crash from his youth, and members of the Manx Aviation and Military Museum & the Maughold Parish Social Club, on their journey up North Barrule on the 76th anniversary.
A detailed report of the crash is available on the The Manx Aviation and Military Museum website.
