taking our culture forward

The Isle of Man has a large number of Iron Age promontory forts.

Dr Rachel Crellin of the University of Leicester takes us to Burroo Ned, a short walk from the Sound, to explain some of the features that can be seen here and at other sites around the coastline.

She also explains the 1,000+ year period of use of the site and some of the many things that we do not know about these sorts of sites.

Dr Rachel Crellin's film about Cup Marks is available here: Cup Marks.
