Big Bree Weekend: Applications open
Mon, 18 Sep 2017
Get creative with Manx traditional songs, tunes, dances and stories!
Culture Vannin’s annual Bree workshop weekend offers a chance for young singers, musicians, dancers and actors to get creative with traditional Manx culture during Autumn half term. On Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th October, students aged 10 to 18 will join local tutors at the Youth Arts Centre in Douglas to work on a number of Manx traditional songs, tunes, dances and stories to be presented at a concert at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon.
During the weekend, students can opt to take workshops in playing or singing, drama, composing and song-writing in English or Manx, and everyone takes part in a final concert on the Sunday afternoon.
It is only £10 to attend the whole weekend, and although no experience of Manx music or Gaelic is needed, instrumentalists are expected to be competent on their instrument.
APPLICATION FORM available here.
DEADLINE for applications: Friday 20 October.
