A conversation about Manx Whales & Dolphins
Thu, 15 Feb 2018
The Manx Whale & Dolphin Watch recently engaged 1,000s of people through an event at the Villa Marina featuring life-size inflatable models of mammals to be found in Manx waters. The event was partly funded through a grant from Culture Vannin. As a result of this, we were very pleased to have a conversation with someone at the MWDW about their work and the event.
The Manx Whale & Dolphin Watch are a Manx charity which works to ensure the safeguarding of whales, dolphins and porpoises in the Irish Sea around the Isle of Man. In February 2018 they staged their largest ever event to engage the public, putting on their MWDW Show in the Villa Marina, attracting over 1,000 people per day to learn more about the sea life around them and what they can do to help. Culture Vannin were very pleased to have played a role in this through the grant which the MWDW received.
Outreach and Education Manager at MWDW, Jen Adams, came in to speak to us about the work of the MWDW, the Show, its success, and what we might do to help the important marine life all around us.
