Born in Sulby in 1824, Arthur Caley was ‘probably the tallest man in the world during his lifetime’. He stood 7 feet 11 inches tall and weighed more than 28 stone. Visitors to the Manx Museum can expect to see an iron cast of Caley’s hand and one of his boots. These artefacts are shown in the photographs below.
